What is Birth Control?
Birth control allows you to take charge of your fertility, freeing you to pursue your educational and career goals. With the right contraception, you can decide when to start a family, how to space your children, and prevent an unplanned pregnancy.

What are long-term birth control methods?
Artemis Menstrual Health and Gynecology offers three long-lasting reversible options to prevent pregnancy. One option is the Nexplanon implant. The implant, a slim plastic device, releases the hormone progesterone continually to prevent pregnancy.
Your practitioner can insert Nexplanon in your upper arm in a simple in-office procedure at Artemis Menstrual Health and Gynecology. Nexplanon can prevent pregnancy for up to three years. If you decide you want to get pregnant, your practitioner can remove it at any time.
Another option is Paraguard®, a non-hormonal copper IUD that prevents pregnancy for up to a decade. Artemis Menstrual Health and Gynecology also offers a hormonal IUD called LILETTA®, which prevents pregnancy for up to six years.
If you’d like an IUD, your practitioner can insert the device during your visit to Artemis Menstrual Health and Gynecology. You can return to have it removed if you decide to start a family.
