Rachelle Fleming is our newest provider, having joined our team in August of 2020. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Daemen College, summa cum laude and then went on to earn her Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at D’Youville College in 2017. After becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, she worked in Pediatrics for a year. There she developed her love of adolescent medicine. She then worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist on Labor and Delivery at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where she focused on research and education. She is passionate about quality improvement and patient centered care. She enjoys educating our patients about their gynecologic health.
She is a native of Buffalo. She resides in North Tonawanda with her husband Adam, daughter Sophia, son Carter and dog Charlie.

Martha P. Putnam, WHNP
Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner
Martha Putnam received her Master of Science degree in Women’s Health Care from the University of Rochester. She has worked as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner since 1995. She has enjoyed returning to her roots in Lockport. Martha’s special interest is cancer detection and prevention. She started Niagara County’s first High Risk Cancer Program at Artemis Menstrual Health and Gynecology. Modeled after Roswell Park Cancer Institute and other regional cancer centers, our program involves screening every patient for a significant family history of cancer. Those who meet the national guidelines are offered genetic testing. Even if an individual is not a candidate for gene testing, there are other preventative measures we can offer. There are computer models that predict one’s lifetime risk of breast cancer. Based on that data, we offer closer surveillance (for example breast MRIs or more frequent clinical exams) and in some cases preventative medications. Lifestyle improvements and a positive attitude are also keys to cancer prevention. Martha’s other area of interest is adolescent health.

Maureen A. D’Angelo, FNP
Board Certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner
Maureen D’Angelo earned Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1997 from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Daemen College, summa cum laude. She has been a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner since 1998. As a nurse, she worked in the emergency department, the medical/surgical floor, and on the oncology unit of Kaleida Health Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Once she earned her degree as a nurse practitioner, she worked in primary care for Highgate Medical Group for eight years. She left there in 2006 to work for Dr. James Pilc, an obstetrician/gynecologist. When Dr. Pilc retired from Western medicine in 2012, he recommended Dr. Madejski to his patients as his successor. We welcomed Maureen D’Angelo to Artemis Menstrual Health and Gynecology to provide continuity of care for Dr. Pilc’s patients. Her experience in both Gynecology and Primary Care has been an invaluable asset to our office.

Our Name
The name Artemis illustrates our mission. Artemis is the ancient Greek goddess of the moon and the hunt. While the moon in a metaphor for the menstrual cycle, the archer reminds us of the importance of focus (attention) and aim (intention) when it comes to our health. She represents feminine strength, confidence, and independence. She placed great value on her freedom – freedom to ask questions, seek solutions, and confidently pursue her own path to complete wellness.
